After a ten week sabbatical, the Australian V8 Superboats Championship will return to action this weekend at the Tweed Valley Jetsprint Club at Cabarita Beach on the north coast of New South Wales for the fourth round of the season. Another strong field of entries will do battle across the two-day event, with Victoria’s Phonsy Mullan - the reigning Australian Unlimited Superboat Champion - expected to set the pace. The two-time Unlimited Champion was less than 100% last time out, but is expected to be back to full health for the fourth round where he is looking to keep his perfect 2015 record intact, after claiming three round wins from three starts in his 2015 title defence.Whilst he ultimately claimed comfortable victories during the double-header at Cabarita in late May, it came at the cost of a number of his title rivals, many of whom suffered mechanical issues, but almost all are back for this weekend’s event to try and put an end to Mullan’s winning streak.
